This is a plein air painting,  a view of the Mare Island Draw Bridge which connects Mare Island to the city of Vallejo in Northern California.  In my studio I added the painting of the girl looking startled, as I too was startled by the approach of a scrffy looking guy whie le painting alone in an isolated spot along the historical section of Mare Island which was once a naval base.
